Kelly Clarkson has announced she will be postponing the remaining sessions of her Las Vegas Residency show happening in Las Vegas this August, due to her ex-husband's passing.

The former judge on 'the Voice' took to social media this Thursday, saying:

"Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas."

"While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.

I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding."

Her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, whom she shares two children with, died this Thursday after battling cancer for "more than three years," according to a family representative. He was aged 48.

The pair divorced back in March 2022, after Clarkson filed for divorce back in 2020, being married for seven years. They shared dual custody of both children since their split, with Clarkson being the primary custodian.

The studio sessions, taking place at the 'Caesar's Palace' Colosseum in Las Vegas, were scheduled to take place from the 4th of July up until the 16th of August. They are also set to take place in the winter, from November the 7th until the 15th.

It remains yet to be seen what dates the August sessions have been postponed to, and whether the November dates will also be impacted.

In her Instagram post which has amassed more than 280,000 likes, fans and celebrities have poured out their support for Clarkson. This includes actress and wife of Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, who commented with a heart emoji:

"Love you, Kelly."

Starting off her career by winning American Idol in 2002, Kelly Clarkson has since released multiple hit songs, been a vocalist judge on 'The Voice' which she left in 2022, and is the host of her own television show, "the Kelly Clarkson show," which is scheduled for a new season this autumn.
